For PC on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Content file locked for steam game?". Oct 19,  · Just got home and there was a small update. In the game list it says that the update is paused and on the downloads page it's showing content file locked. I've tried verifying the integrity and each time it says that 22 files need to be re-downloaded and each time I get the 'content file locked' message. Anyone had the same issue before? Steam is infuriating sometimes(most of the time actually) Last time it was tyranny that kept stating that content file is locked - trick is the file doesn't exists before the update, update itself copies it from download folder and for some reason desides that it is locked level 2.

Shut down Steam and bring it back up. I've tried closing steam and restarting the computer. No other games are running and I've tried turning the Anti virus off but still the same.
